Craig y Nos Castle is a historic Victorian Gothic Castle built from 1841
with its own Grade One Listed Opera House licensed for Civil Ceremonies.

Uniquely, you can either marry in the historic setting of the Opera House, on gold thrones set high up on a stage, where opera stars once performed.
Or for a lighter and airier more modern looking Wedding Ceremony location, say your vows in our Conservatory with the sun streaming through the windows, and with countryside views overlooking the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Or even marry outside in front of our summerhouse, for a summer wedding.
'Craig y Nos' is Welsh for 'Rock (of) the Night' and you and your guests will be able to 'Rock the Night' away into the early hours, especially if you have as many as your guests stay overnight with you as possible. This stops people cutting off home too early. We encourage guests to stay overnight, with discounts on two night stays, so you can make a full weekend of it and your wedding day 'lasts' a full day.

You'll all have the exclusive run of the whole castle ground floor and if you fill them, all the bedrooms, so no one else will be around - just your guests, your family, your wedding party.
Unlike other venues which confine you to one room all day, we allow you the use of the function room and bar for the evening, the conservatory for the day reception, various lounges, and the opera house, gardens, conservatory, Breakfast Room, or wherever you wish, for your wedding ceremony!

If the weather is poor we have enough places inside for photos. Also if staying over a full weekend, you can arrange pre-wedding shoots in the grounds and country park. Our regular photographers know all the best spots for photos with the castle and country scenery as your backdrop.
When you stay at such a historic building, with its own grounds set within a 40 acre Country Park, you are effectively hiring a large country house exclusively for your wedding over a full two day two night weekend.
While we have one day wedding packages, the benefit of inviting guests to stay the night before, is that you and your party can all relax and settle in, before the Big Day. This means you can set up your table decor in the Conservatory, on the day before your wedding, so you can fully relax on the day.
We even have a make-up and ready room in another building, for you to use on the morning of your wedding. Just have your hairdresser come along to the ready room.

Additionally, with all your guests staying over on the wedding night, 'the best day of your life', your wedding day, will last.
Your day will not be brought to a premature close by couples leaving to go home early in the evening.
Anyone that needs a rest during the day can go back to their room and then join you for the evening party.
Everyone is free to relax and roam around as they please.
With everyone settling in for a full weekend holiday, it is like having your own country home for the full weekend.
Our location is rural so we suit wedding couples prepared to travel to us from their home town.
We are ideally situated half way between Brecon and Swansea and attract weddings from all over the UK.
Nearby we have a number of great attractions, making us a holiday destination in our own right, for your wedding guests wishing to come a few days early.
We are dog friendly also, so welcome families with pets.
Nearby we have Henrhyd waterfalls, the National Show caves of Wales, the Brecon Beacons Mountain Centre, Usk Reservoir walks, Brecon market town (22 miles but a fast drive on clear roads) etc.
We also have 6 six lovely country pubs within a two mile radius of the castle, one with a small zoo! Many local pubs offer additional accommodation for your guests if we run out of rooms - though we can sleep 100. There are some great walks and countryside to explore.
The Castle is now an award winning wedding venue, winning annual awards four years running for best wedding venue, best wedding planners, best wedding co-ordinators, etc.

Our wedding packages are competitively priced, with some great offers when you use our accommodation for your guests. Many of our packages include discounted or free use of the venue, in return for accommodation use by guests.
We are not a local venue close to where you live, we are more a 'destination wedding venue' where you and all your guests stay for a weekend party.
Last week we had an American Wedding staying four days, with all their guests arriving on a couple of coaches from London.
As a castle wedding venue in South Wales we are a fraction of the cost of a London wedding venue. Given our much lower rates and accommodation costs compared to London hotels, it makes sense to book your wedding at the Castle.
You will easily save £10 to £20,000 over any equivalent wedding in London or the Home Counties.
Plus you'll also be supporting a historic castle in South Wales, as all spare revenue goes towards the Castle's maintenance and continuing restoration and improvement.
